Demo website made by Betta Studio: Menuiserie Corbet is a fictional business. I want a website like this

A family joinery workshop since 1987

Two generations of Corbets, four joiners and a 600 m² workshop in Seynod, where everything we fit is designed, cut and assembled.

A word from the owner

“A staircase is a piece of furniture you walk on”

I grew up among the shavings of my father’s workshop. After a joinery apprenticeship, I spent six years travelling with the Compagnons guild, from Lyon to Bordeaux, before coming back to Annecy in 2005. In 2009, I took over the workshop.

Three things matter to me: designing every project with you, making things ourselves rather than buying them ready-made, and fitting them ourselves. Made-to-measure furniture must be exactly that, down to the last millimetre, and only the person who made it can guarantee it.

Our story

Thirty-odd years of shavings

  1. 1987

    A barn in Cran-Gevrier

Pierre Corbet opens his workshop with a band saw, a planer and plenty of elbow grease. His first customers: chalet shutters and doors.

  2. 1998

    The first spiral staircase

Three months of drawing and cutting for a mansion in Talloires. Staircases become the workshop’s speciality.

  3. 2009

    Julien takes over

Back from his years with the Compagnons, Julien takes over from his father, who stays at the bench two days a week.

  4. 2016

    A new workshop in Seynod

600 m², a sample room and a timber drying store: room enough to make whole kitchens and three-storey staircases.

  5. 2022

    Restoring old windows

With Clara’s arrival, the workshop now saves the windows of around twenty farmhouses and village homes every year.

  6. Today

Four joiners, around forty projects a year

And one rule that has not changed: whatever leaves the workshop is designed, made and fitted by us.
